It can be used on all Discovery 2s that have the gearbox with the center lock but not the lever; it comes with a rubber boot that attaches between the leather shift boot and the metal base above the center tunnel.
The lever replaces the one that has only the function of the reducers so you will have only two levers, the knob for the reducer lever and the center lock you will have to use the original one you have in the car.
To verify that your Discovery has the gearbox with the center block you need to check the year of registration, which corresponds to before 2001, while those registered after 2001 do not have the block except for a few that were registered at the turn of 2000/01.
